England - Sep18 - Port Isaac & Doc Martin

From Weymouth we continued driving west to the Cornwall peninsula, north coast.  Our destination was Port Isaac.  You may know it as the fictional seaside village of Port Wenn featured in the British television comedy drama Doc Martin.

In his England travel book, Rick Steves describes Port Isaac as 'a beautiful workaday fishing village tucked in a deep gash of rock just down the coast from Tintagel.... Playing Port Wenn on TV has put this otherwise sleepy town on the map.'

Getting here was not easy; the road narrowed the closer we got.  Finally, it was down to one lane -- hope no one is coming the other way!  I believe they built this good size parking lot just to handle the tourist influx.  Like us!

Port Isaac was Lynnette's favorite thing on the entire trip.
   
I haven't watched every episode like Lynnette has but I have watched a few and immediately recognized the small beach/harbor area.
